PUBLIC BROADCASTING ATLANTA PROVIDES A "LENS ON ATLANTA"

Public Broadcasting Atlanta Provides a "Lens On Atlanta"

Lens On Atlanta is the first region-specific online community of its kind sponsored by public broadcasting.  More than five million people call metro Atlanta home, and through Lens On Atlanta, Public Broadcasting Atlanta is providing online tools that will enable our community to become more cohesive, more involved and ultimately, more productive.

Lens On Atlanta has three main areas: civic engagement, education and the arts.

Public Broadcasting Atlanta's civic engagement site, Public Square Atlanta, provides free social media tools that allow community members to connect with each other as well as educational and business institutions and elected officials. PublicSquareAtlanta.org  is a forum not just for conversation but for action.  It’s a place to discuss issues and drive solutions for positive change.

For education, our partnership with the Forum Network has enabled us to engage with numerous local organizations to host hundreds of local lectures on topics ranging from anthropology to zoology. Working with our community, we have trained a cadre of community volunteers to record and archive lectures and events of lasting importance in our community.

Atlanta PlanIt is the foundation for the arts component of Lens on Atlanta.  It contains details on events for over 450 different organizations, making atlantaplanit.com/ the most comprehensive and up-to-date arts and culture events website in Metro Atlanta.

Public Broadcasting Atlanta is committed to providing a platform for conversations, community information, debates and civil discourse.

Lens on Atlanta truly allows our community to connect, collaborate, and create change.
