WXXI Hosted and Broadcast State Attorney General Democratic Debate

On August 31, WXXI hosted an hour-long debate among candidates running in the New York State Attorney General Democratic primary election. The debate was aired live on AM 1370, WXXI-WORLD, WXXI-TV in additions to all television and radio stations across the state of New York and streamed live on WXXI.org. Candidates Richard Brodsky, Sean Coffey, Kathleen Rice and Eric Schneiderman were invited to present their platforms. The debate is part of WXXI’s Voice of the Voter 2010 partnership with the Democratic & Chronicle, 13 WHAM TV and WDKX 103.9 FM.

WXXI’s weekly news and public affairs program, Need to Know Rochester, will present a recap of the debate with analysis in a special segment to air Friday, September 3 at 8:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV. The debate will also be featured on New York Now, a public affairs program featuring news, interviews and analysis from the Capitol which will air on WXXI-TV on Friday, September 3 at 10:30 p.m.

Since 1958, WXXI has provided the Greater Rochester area with the finest radio and television programming available. In the last several years, WXXI has bloomed from broadcasting one television channel and two radio stations to four television channels and six radio stations. WXXI has added interactive services such as live streaming of radio and podcasts of many programs.
